About the Role

As Housekeeper & Nursery Support Assistant, you’ll help ensure that every corner of the nursery feels as cared for as the children inside it. This is a hybrid role, part housekeeping, part nursery support, ideal for someone who takes real pride in presentation and finds meaning in the small, quiet acts of care that make a nursery feel like home.

Key Responsibilities

▹ Maintain high standards of cleanliness across classrooms, communal areas, bathrooms and the kitchen

▹ Carry out daily and deep-clean routines in line with our health and hygiene standards

▹ Monitor and restock cleaning, hygiene and classroom supplies

▹ Support practitioners with everyday tasks such as preparing snack and mealtime areas, laundering bedding and linens, and tidying learning environments between activities

▹ Help create a welcoming, presentable first impression for parents, children and visitors

▹ Report maintenance issues or safety concerns promptly

▹ Follow all safeguarding, health and safety, and infection control procedures

▹ Lend a gentle hand with light supervision of children alongside practitioners where needed

Skills & Experience

○ Previous housekeeping, cleaning or facilities experience preferred

○ GCSE Maths and English requirements. 

○ Experience in a nursery, school or childcare environment is an advantage but not essential

○ Attention to detail, and pride in a job well done

○ A proactive, can-do attitude

○ Comfortable and confident around young children

○ Willingness to complete basic safeguarding and health & safety training
